What will you do with the strength you have,
the mind you were given, and the time
you cannot get back?
Strength & tenderness. Conviction & doubt. Beauty & ruin.
Rooted in Tennessee.Strength & Tenderness
What is your strength for?
There’s the weight you lift, and the weight other people trust you to carry. Train the body. Learn your tools. Examine what happens when capability meets responsibility.
Training · Physical discipline · Guns & gear · Field practice
Original concept reading
A weight tells the truth. It doesn’t care how you describe yourself. You can move it today, or you can’t. There’s relief in that kind of honesty.
The rest of life is less clean. You can call yourself dependable and still be absent. You can grow stronger and become harder to reach. A room can feel the force of you without ever feeling safe in your presence.
What are you training for? It’s a question worth bringing home from the gym. Strength has a destination. Someone will live with the way you use it.

It’s easy to fall in love with equipment. The finish, the weight, the feeling that owning the right thing makes you more capable. The harder question begins after the purchase: what have you actually learned, and what have you merely acquired?
A film about the gear we choose, the judgment it demands, and the difference between confidence and familiarity. Personal field experience and responsible ownership belong at the center of the story.
Conviction & Doubt
Who are you, and who has to live with it?
On being a man, a father, a son, and a friend. The beliefs we inherit. The patterns we repeat. The selves we build, and the people who have to live with them.
There are questions you can answer beautifully and still spend your life avoiding.
Original concept essay
Take away the work for a moment. The requests. The small emergencies. The usefulness that keeps your days full. What’s left when nobody is asking you to be anything?
Being needed can give a man purpose. It can also give him somewhere to hide. You can spend years answering everyone else and never sit long enough to hear your own answer.
Perhaps the self is less settled than we like to believe. A story we tell, a set of habits we defend, a reflection returned by the people around us. Some of it chosen. Some of it handed down before we knew we could refuse it.
Who are you when nobody needs you? Stay there for a moment. Notice what you rush to fill the silence with.
Original concept essay · An imagined first-person reflection
I wonder which version of me will survive in their memory. The one I explain, or the one they experience when I’m tired. Whether they’ll remember what I said about patience, or the room going quiet when I lost mine.
A father is also a son. He carries someone else’s voice into the house, sometimes without recognizing it. The work is learning which parts to keep, which to question, and which must end with him.
Kinship reaches beyond fatherhood. It’s the friend who tells you the truth at a cost to himself. The parent you’re finally able to see as a person. The apology that leaves you smaller for a moment and makes room for someone else.
Love asks for something harder than a convincing account of who we meant to be. It asks us to notice who actually showed up.

Some beliefs arrive before we have words for them. At a table. In a church. In the things a family will discuss and the things it won’t. Familiarity can feel very much like certainty.
Questioning an inherited belief can feel like questioning the people who gave it to you. That’s part of what makes it difficult. Loyalty, fear, faith, and reason rarely arrive in separate rooms.
A solo conversation about what deserves our conviction, what doubt can reveal, and whether a belief can become more honestly ours when we’re willing to examine it.
Beauty & Ruin
What moves you enough to make you look closer?
A softer voice can reach a place force never will. Film, photographs, readings, and poetry make room for longing, grief, wonder, and contradiction. For the beautiful things that carry damage. For the broken things we still love.
Film · Photography · Readings · Poetry

Original concept reading
Look at the grain of an old table. The dark ring, the split near the edge, the place where a hand has worn the finish away. We could call those things defects. We could also ask how much of its beauty would remain without them.
Ruin asks us to look at time without the comfort of pretending it leaves us untouched. Beauty asks us to keep looking. Between them is the difficult work of loving something we cannot preserve forever.
Original concept poem
The porch keeps the shape of an empty chair. Rain moves through the timber. Light finds what it can. I leave the book open where the page refuses to stay flat.

A place can become familiar enough to disappear. The same road, the same tree line, the light crossing the same floor. A camera can ask us to stop passing through.
A visual study of Tennessee: weather, worn surfaces, ordinary spaces, and the small changes attention makes visible. Photographs and a short film will share the same thread of observation.

A way of treating people. A belief someone else may have to examine. Something made with care. A life continues in the people it touches. The question is what they’ll have to carry.
